September MDM2 Insider

Helping Arizona MedTech Companies
Put University Research to Work
For MedTech startups, the right research partner can help answer technical questions, validate an approach, solve development challenges, and move a promising technology closer to commercialization.

Arizona’s universities offer deep expertise across bioscience, engineering, medicine, and related fields, but many companies aren’t sure where to start or how to structure a productive collaboration.
MDM2 is working with companies, universities, attorneys, and ecosystem partners to make that path clearer.
On September 24, MDM2 will host a webinar focused on how MedTech companies can better access and work with university research resources. The session will cover when a university may be the right partner, why collaborations sometimes stall, and how companies can prepare before getting started.
Read the full article and register for the September 24 webinar to learn how your company can better tap into Arizona’s university research capabilities.
MDM2 Member Spotlight:
Remedy Medical Manufacturing
Remedy Medical Manufacturing is a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization filling a critical gap between the lab and market for companies of all sizes, keeping life-saving technologies moving forward on their path to commercialization.
Remedy is much more than a traditional contract manufacturing company. While local incubators provide business support, office space, and fundraising resources, few options exist to actually create a medical device and move it through the regulatory and commercialization steps. Remedy provides this physical service, enabling companies to keep moving forward while they raise money to reach their goals.
Remedy Medical Manufacturing has an exciting future with several major announcements planned through the end of 2026 and into 2027. Recently hired staff are focusing on scaling manufacturing as early clients reach commercialization, while some larger clients are searching for US based manufacturing sites.
Several partnerships are in development, and a final fundraising round to upgrade facilities has begun. Remedy will also expand beyond medical devices into manufacturing drug-based and cosmetic products, supporting even more locally developed companies.
As part of a larger ecosystem there is an incredible opportunity to grow the MDM2 Community and create a new hub for medtech development and manufacturing in the Southwest over the next 5 to 10 years.
Remedy Medical Manufacturing by the numbers:
Moved to Phoenix from Philadelphia in 2022 into a 5000 sqft facility
Moved to Mesa in 2026 and currently occupy 15,000 sqft
Averaging 10 employees in a typical year and growing

In 2026 Remedy has over 20 customers and 30 active projects
